Artist Payout ("we," "us," "our") operates this website to provide free, informational music royalty and payout calculators. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've written it to be readable rather than to bury the point.
Information we collect
We only collect information in two ways:
- Information you give us through a form. If you choose to submit a contact or lead form, we collect what you enter — typically your name, email, optional artist or project name, an approximate monthly-listeners figure, and any message you add — along with your consent to be contacted.
- Basic usage and attribution data. Like most websites, we may collect limited analytics and campaign-attribution information (such as which page or campaign referred you) to understand how the site is used and to attribute referrals. We do not require you to create an account.
Using the calculators themselves does not require you to submit any personal information. You can read every guide and run every calculator without giving us your details.
How we use your information
- To respond to you and, if you asked us to, to connect you with relevant providers.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the site and its calculators.
- To measure the performance of referrals and marketing campaigns.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Consent and contact
When you submit a form with the consent box checked, you agree that we and the relevant providers we connect you with may contact you by email about your request. We only collect your email address — never a phone number — so we don't contact you by phone or text. Consent is not a condition of any purchase, and you can opt out at any time by unsubscribing from any email or emailing us at hello@artistpayout.com.
How we share information
If you submit a lead form asking to be matched with providers, we share the details you provided with the relevant provider(s) so they can follow up. We may use service providers (for example, an email-delivery service) to operate the site; they process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
We do not sell or "share" your personal information as those terms are defined under California law (including sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising). We do not trade or rent your details to unrelated third parties for their independent marketing.
Your choices and rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information you've provided to us, and you can opt out of further contact at any time. If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) gives you rights to know what personal information we have collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. Because we neither sell nor share your personal information, there is nothing to opt out of on that front, but you may still exercise your other rights. Data retention and security
We keep the information you submit only as long as needed for the purposes described above or as required by law, and we take reasonable measures to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here.
